Amanda Holden swerves Phillip Schofield chat after being urged to ‘shut up’

Amanda Holden swerved talking about her feud with Phillip Schofield after she was urged to "shut up".

This Morning star Sophie Prescott had called for Amanda to be sacked over her 'mud-slinging' of her fellow ITV star.

Amanda appeared to confirm the rumoured long-running feud yesterday when she said she'd tried to reach out to Phillip but been snubbed.

She said on her Heart Radio breakfast show: "I text him recently but didn't get a text back."

She also confessed it "wasn't nice to wake up to those headlines this weekend".

But today, there was no mention of the feud as she hosted her show with Jamie Theakston and guest Alesha Dixon .

It comes after Sophie said: "She is being thoroughly unprofessional. She should be yellow-carded and told to shut up or face the sack from Britain's Got Talent."

Amanda and Phil's fraught relationship took a hit at the weekend when reports emerged that he had blocked her chance at standing in for Holly Willoughby on This Morning while she was hosting I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.

Amanda reportedly complained to ITV bosses that Phillip 'blocked her chances' of progression on the daytime show.

He apparently branded her "difficult to manage" on air and campaigned for Rochelle Humes to get the job instead, reports the Sun.

A TV executive revealed that Amanda "feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion".

The reports fuelled the rift between Amanda and Phillip, which is said to have been simmering for years.

Phillip hit back on Twitter , telling fans: "The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless 'sources'.

"Obviously I'll take it on the chin.. I just hope you know me better."

In a statement, ITV said: "Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly. Final decisions are made by producers, not presenters.

"Phillip is a much-loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He's a consummate professional.

"Amanda is also held in high regard as a judge on one of our biggest shows."
