Ashley Cain says his heart is ‘shattered’ in devastating tribute to baby daughter Azaylia: ‘I miss you so much already’

Ashley Cain has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his baby daughter Azaylia after she passed away following a devastating and brave battle with leukaemia.

The former Ex On The Beach star said his baby girl “made him a better man” as he posted a sweet photo holding her hand in a yellow baby grow adorned with her name on it.

Ashley wrote: “My heart is shattered. You gave my life purpose, my face a smile, filled my heart with love and my soul with pride.

“I can’t put into words my sadness and pain, there aren’t words to describe it. I love you with every ounce of my body and I miss you so much already.”

Ashley added that he was “taught more in 8 months than in his whole life”, writing: “I don’t know why you’ve been taken away from me and my heart aches in your absence.

“But I promise you that your name with live on. I will carry your name across every ocean, along every road, to the top of every mountain and across the whole globe. Your name will live, your legacy will be remembered and I will seek peace in living as your vessel to continue inspiring, giving strength, spreading joy and saving lives in your name, with your spirit, as your father until we meet again.”


Ashley added that he felt that his first born child had “saved his life” and that he was “honoured” to have been her father.

Ashley and his partner Safiyya Vorajee announced on Sunday that Azaylia had sadly lost her battle with leukaemia at just eight months old.

He wrote: “Rest In Paradise Princess. I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven. #AzayliaDiamondCain.”

His partner Safiyya Vorajee shared a heartbreaking tribute to their baby girl alongside a picture of her cuddling Azaylia.

The only child of Ex On The Beach star Ashley and his partner Safiyya, Azaylia's diagnosis and treatment had been chronicled throughout her short life on social media by her devoted parents.

The infant was just two months old when she was first diagnosed with an aggressive and rare form of the blood cancer and had been receiving care at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

After multiple rounds of chemo and even a bone marrow transplant, the family were told the devastating news that Azaylia's leukaemia had returned.

In a final attempt to save her life, they launched a fundraiser last month to pay for specialist treatment in Singapore. Fans and celebrities alike rushed to offer support, and they shattered their target of the £1million needed within hours, with the account now holding more than £1.5million.

But days later in an emotional update Ashley shared the devastating update that doctors believed Azaylia had just days to live after they found tumours throughout her body.

Tributes from around the globe have been paid to Azaylia, with Stacey Solomon writing: “Heartbreaking… I’m so sorry to every single child and parent who is suffering, has suffered and will never stop suffering.

“It is so cruel and so unfair. Rest in Paradise Azaylia.”

Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague wrote: “Heaven has gained the sweetest angel. My heart has broken.”

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa shared her heartbreak as she said: “I’m so sorry. Life is so unfair. Rest in peace you beautiful little girl."
