Faye Brookes, 33, was partnered up with Dancing on Ice pro skater Hamish Gaman, 37, on the 2021 series of the show. Following a finger injury, Hamish was forced to pull out of the competition with Faye having since taken to social media as she admitted she is ‘heartbroken’ they will not be continuing on the ice together.

In an emotional post to her 169,000 Instagram followers, she began: “Truly heartbroken with the news that @hamishgaman has had to withdraw from @dancingonice.

“This guy has been there for me from the very beginning. Taught me everything I know and I hope I did you proud brother…

“It has been an honour. You are honestly an incredible human but also an incredible friend.

“We both can’t thank the viewers at home enough for your constant support and for voting for Team #Faymish

“Last but not least I have to Thank you Mr Gaman for supporting me no matter what! Here’s to a friendship that will go beyond the ice.”

She ended by saying: “Here for you always, Faye x.”

Fans of the Coronation Street actress took to the comments as they shared her dismay.

One wrote: “Oh no poor Hamish! Loved your routine on Sunday and thought you had some harsh comments. Just heard Matt Evers is your new partner – love Matt.”

Another added: “I’m devastated to hear this sad news. I’m going to miss both of you on and off ice… such a special partnership.

“Best of lucks for the rest of the journey. You deserve to win this series.”(sic)

A third continued: “Absolutely gutted for you and Hamish.

“I’m happy you can stay in the competition though.”

Hamish has followed a long list of stars who have had to leave the 2021 series of the show.

Both Denise Van Outen and TOWIE star Billie Shepherd were also forced to leave the competition after injuring themselves during training.

Emmerdale’s Joe-Warren Plant and comedian Rufus Hound have also had to pull out after testing positive for coronavirus.

Dancing on Ice returns to ITV on Sunday, February 28.
