Frankie Essex’s baby son rushed to hospital with infection as she gives update

Former TOWIE cast member Frankie Essex has said that her baby son Logan was rushed to A&E on Monday 17 October after suffering from a leg infection.

Frankie, 34, whose brother is Joey Essex, welcomed twins Logan and Luella in June with her partner Luke Love.

The reality star took to Instagram on Tuesday 18 October, where she revealed that Logan was rushed to the hospital the day before and Luella was being cared for by family.

She then shared an update as she posted a clip of her other half Luke holding their son while still under medical care. Frankie detailed: "Our Little Logan. Last night we ended up in a&e baby has an infection in his leg.

"Doing well, his daddy didn't leave his side all night so mummy could take our little girl home [to] get the bottles [and] blankets."

Frankie returned to Instagram later in the day to thank fans for their support after the difficult time she's been through.

“Thank you for all your messages,” she wrote alongside a prayer emoji.

Earlier this year, Frankie shocked some fans when she said that she didn’t intend to breastfeed the twins because she felt it was important for Luke to bond with them.

“I decided I didn’t want to [breastfeed] – just for the fact it’s twins and I need some sleep and I felt like it was an important bond for Luke [to bottle feed them],” she told OK! in an exclusive interview.

Frankie, who also doesn’t believe that mothers should be shamed if they choose not to breastfeed, added: “The men can’t bond as much if the mum is breastfeeding.

“Where I’ve got the milk, the babies can still smell it.

"They suck like crazy when they’re on me, so I just pass them to Luke sometimes and they settle easier. He’s warm – he’s such a hot person. I think they love the warmth."

In her exclusive column with OK!, Frankie further detailed her experiences with motherhood and, most notably, how her babies are already learning sign language.

She wrote: “We went to baby sensory today and so that was nice for [the twins]. They loved it. We go to a hall with all the other mums and dads there and their babies – they’re from the age of a couple of months to toddlers as some of them are crawling.

“It’s £8 a baby per term but if you have twins or siblings, they’re half price. The babies love it and they just learn – it’s a learning thing and she does a lot of sign language.

“The teacher said that babies learn to sign before they speak, so you know when a baby waves? That’s obviously 'hello' in sign language.”
