Hollyoaks actor Rory Douglas-Speed has delighted fans with a new snap of his newborn son after announcing his arrival earlier in the day.
The actor and his co-star fiancée Nadine Mulkerrin welcomed their first child together on Tuesday, with the loved-up couple sharing the happy news the following day on social media.
In another image of the tot, who the couple have named Reggie Speed, the actor is seen kissing his son on the nose.
The gorgeous black and white image was shared by Rory alongside the caption: “My Wee Boy,” accompanied by a crying face emoji and a heart.
Earlier in the day the couple had shared the happy news of Reggie’s arrival as they took to Instagram to share a snap of the tot shortly after his arrival in hospital.
The soap star couple, who got engaged last year and revealed they were expecting a child at the British Soap Awards, took to Instagram to announce they had welcomed a little boy together on Tuesday.
The couple shared a photo of Nadine in hospital alongside her husband-to-be as they cradle their newborn, who they have named Reggie, while beaming at him.
The Cleo McQueen actress, 25, wrote: "Reggie Speed. You're the coolest little dude we never knew we were missing in our lives! We love you so Much.
"Also Thank you to every incredible NHS worker we've come across at the womens. (Helen, Jordine, Amy, Amy) Your all walking angels. Thank you so much for making one of biggest moments of our lives so extra special with care."
Rory, 27, who stars as Joel Dexter in the soap, shared another image, writing: “Welcome to the family wee Reggie Speed 15.8.19.
"We love You man. So proud of Nadine, I didn't think I could love her anymore but my heart is bloody bursting! She was amazing throughout her labour. Women are seriously superhuman."
The co-stars announced they were expecting their first child together as they hit the red carpet for the British Soap Awards earlier this year.
Showing off her baby bump, Nadine shared a post confirming the happy news, writing: “That’s us three ready for the British Soap Awards."
The couple also announced they were set to tie the knot following a romantic proposal over Christmas. Their characters got married themselves on Hollyoaks, and Rory followed suit months later with his own proposal.
Opening up about the proposal, Rory exclusively told OK! magazine: “It was terrifying. I felt like I was on my knee for an eternity and I remember saying: ‘Go on, just say something!
"I felt that she was always going to say yes because we always have a laugh about it, but in that moment when I was on my knee I thought, she’s saying no!"
Nadine joined the Hollyoaks cast in 2015 and has also previously starred in Waterloo Road and Doctors. Meanwhile, Rory has been playing Joel Dexter since 2016.
