Stacey Dooley, 34, recently returned with the new series of her W series Sleeps Over. Opening up to Express.co.uk and other media, the presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star opened up about an awkward moment in the first episode.

Viewers were excited to see Stacey back on screens for her show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over.

The documentary series sees her stay at her subjects’ homes to try and get to know them a bit better.

The first episode of the show aired last week as Stacey followed Trad Wives.

These are women who promote ultra-traditional gender roles, eschewing careers to stay at home and raise a family.

However, now the presenter has revealed there was an awkward moment when filming.

She explained during a recent Q&A: “What was funny about the Trad Wives episode was over the course of a weekend, they were renewing their wedding vows.

“So we all know what goes on when you know…

“They wanted to have a great time and celebrate.

“And I was directly next door and the wall was paper-thin.

The filmmaker added: “I thought, ‘Oh God, I’m going to have to get some earplugs because I know exactly how this is going to go down.

“But they were actually very quiet so I can only thank them for that.”

The moment in question saw Stacey opening up to the camera about how quiet sex is just a “hassle”.

Stacey said: “I feel bad because they wanted to have a good time last night, which I obviously get.

“Unfortunately for them, I’m directly next door so they can’t really go for it.

“And you know what it’s like when you’re trying to have sex quietly, it’s more hassle than it’s worth.”

Speaking about this during the Q&A, Stacey explained: “Yeah, it’s a bit of a hassle, isn’t it?

“I thought I can’t be arsed.”

Stacey’s new show is airing on Monday evenings on the W Channel.

In total, there are six episodes in the second series as Stacey meets some more unique families.

Some of the people she will be staying with include environmental campaigners and an owner of wild cats.

Speaking about filming the show, Stacey added: “I liked the idea of being totally immersed and I suppose it didn’t feel too sort of bizarre to me because I’ve been on location for years but it does totally change the dynamic.

“When you know you’ve got to have a conversation and they’ve got to be held to account or you’ve got to ask something in a quite direct manner.

You’ve then got to have dinner with them an hour later or ask them how to work the shower so it really forces you as a documentarian to be brave and to be courageous.

“You don’t need to be necessarily confrontational, just ask the questions instead of running around the corner and doing a piece to the camera and director down the road.

“It’s a really good learning curve for me actually.”

Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over airs Mondays at 10pm on W.
