Jamie Laing leaves fans in stitches as he prank calls pal Spencer Matthews

Jamie Laing delighted fans on Saturday as he pranked his best pal Spencer Matthews with a hilarious phone call.

The Made in Chelsea star couldn’t help but bring a dose of laughter and cheer to his followers as he took to Instagram to share a video he had recorded of the cheeky prank underway.

Seated beside his laptop and with his phone in hand, Jamie began the short video by saying: “You know when you call someone and they put you on that really annoying hold music? You know, dee-dee-dee-dee-dee, it’s annoying right? So I decided I’m going to phone my friend Spencer and do the same to him and see what his reaction is”

With a grin on his face, Jamie could hardly contain his laughter as he telephoned his friend, and began what initially seemed like a perfectly normal conversation, however just a few short seconds into the call, Jamie pretended that his mum was on the other line and he needed to place Spencer briefly on hold.

Despite his assertions that Jamie could simply phone him back, Spencer did remain on the line, but likely soon regretted it, as his MIC co-star began to play hold music down the phone to him, before cracking out a xylophone to play a few notes himself.

When he came back on the line, Spencer immediately raised his suspicions and said: “You’re doing something dodgy. I know that you’re doing something dodgy.”

Jamie then placed his pal on hold for a second time, only this time instead of a xylophone, he began to play with a recorder instead – a move which soon irritated his friend.

“Jamie, I’m in-between meetings in York mate, I don’t have time for messing around,” explained Spencer with a note of irritation in his voice.

He then continued: “You’re being a f***ing loser doing TikTok or something. What is wrong with you?”

Realising he had struck a nerve, Jamie then descended into giggles as he ended the call and asked his pal to call him later.

Although what had prompted the prank remains a mystery, fans at home couldn’t get enough of the exchange as they took to the comments section to applaud Jamie’s sense of humour.

Alongside two laughing emojis one fan wrote: “Have you not wound the poor boy up enough already Jamie ?”

While another added: “How he just knows you’re up to something straight away!”

Before a third wrote: “This is so funny I can’t stop laughing.”

Prompting a fourth fan to comment: “So sad we didn’t get the full recorder moment lived out!”
