Joe Alwyn supports Taylor Swift as couple hold hands at Cats premiere

Joe Alwyn shared a supporting hand – literally – to girlfriend Taylor Swift overnight, as the pair attended the world premiere of her latest flick, Cats.

While the pair didn’t walk the red carpet together, which appears to be their thing, they did join forces after Taylor clocked off work for the night.

Shielded from the rain by a bunch of brollies toted by security, Joe held onto Tay’s hand as they strolled off – the singer’s very exquisite, strapless Oscar de la Renta gown more than likely trailing in puddles as they left the Lincoln Centre.

Still stylish, gotta say.

Joe looked dapper in a blue suit as he turned to talk to his partner, who had her eyes firmly fixed on the steps in front of her.

Taylor, 30, and Joe, 28, have yet to walk a red carpet together (we can but dream at this point) but they are always on hand to support one another’s professional pursuits, with Taylor often sneaking in the backdoor for Joe’s premieres.

We love to see it.

It’s been a big week for the star, who plays Bombalurina in the musical classic, after she was nominated for a Golden Globe award alongside Cats father Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Their song Beautiful Ghosts picked up a nom in the best original song category and they were absolutely over the moon about it.

Taylor – who plays Bombalurina in the film adaptation – wrote on social media following the news: ‘I woke up today to the news that Beautiful Ghosts is nominated for a Golden Globe.

‘It’s so cool that one of the most fun, fulfilling creative experiences I’ve ever had is being honored in this way by the HFPA.

‘I ended up spending many days on set watching the other performers do their scenes. Watching the character Victoria, played by @frankiegoestohayward inspired me so much and Beautiful Ghosts was the result.’

She added: ‘Congrats to my co-writer and buddy 4 life Andrew Lloyd Webber. This is just purrfect.’

Cats is in cinemas Friday.
