MAFS Adam Aveling seen mid hair transplant as he insists it didnt hurt a bit
Married at First Sight star Adam Aveling has opened up on getting a hair transplant, saying that the procedure “didn’t hurt a bit”.
During a hair transplant, a surgeon generally removes follicles from a dense part of the hair, such as the back of the head, and transplants them into an area with less hair.
The fitness coach, 27, shared his thoughts with fans on the way to the procedure, as well as the results afterwards, as he got a hair transplant alongside his brother James to encourage new hair growth around his hairline.
Sharing a video with fans as he walked to the clinic, Adam – who was recently evacuated from his home due to a fire – said: “So today I’m in London, getting something very exciting done that I’ve wanted to get done for a long time. I’m with my brother. We’re both getting it done. We’ve both spoken about it for years.
“So, I’m getting the hair transplant done because for a while now I’ve been, not self-conscious, but wanting it done. There’s a reason why I constantly wear a cap in all my videos. I think for lads, especially for lads, they’ve got the facial hair and that’s about it.”
Turning to his brother, Adam then asks: “So, you excited? So tell me about your hair loss story.”
James explains: “It’s not so much a hair loss story, more of a never had a hairline story. Like Adam, I’ve wanted it for years.”
In a later post, Adam shared a photo with his brother post-procedure, in which the pair can be seen with shaved heads and marks on the front of their hairline where the transplant has taken place.
In the caption, Adam wrote: “All done in around 6 hours pretty much pain free!”
In the captions, followers thanked the MAFS UK star for sharing his story, with one person writing: “Great being so open about something that affects a lot of people.”
Another follower wrote: “Good for you and your brother.“
A third person added: “And toooo blooming right!!! It’s about time blokes can talk openly about their wishes and things they wanna change about them!”
Adam tied the knot with Tayah Victoria, 26, on Channel 4 reality show Married At First Sight a year ago and they are now expecting their first child.
In April, the couple exclusively revealed to OK! that they'd be welcoming a baby girl later this year.
In the video diary, the MAFS couple documented the moments before and after of their 11-week scan and shared their excitement at seeing their little one for the first time.
Tayah introduces the video diary by telling us: “We’re off to see the baby!” as she films herself and Adam in the car driving to their appointment.
“So we should be around 11 weeks today,” Tayah tells the camera. “I’m very excited. I’m very nervous but I’m very excited. So let’s go and see this baby!”
The video also sees the pair, who have postponed their legal nuptials due to their baby, discuss that they think they might be having a little boy.
Sitting next to each other in the car, Tayah continues: “I’m also dying to know the gender. We’ve just found out the gender of Adam’s brother’s baby.”
Adam says: “Literally he just came round to tell us. They’re having a boy, so we’re thinking boy.”
Tayah adds: “We think we’re going to be outnumbered by boys, so yeah it’s so exciting.”
