Matthew McConaughey takes inspo from Jennifer Aniston as he joins Instagram
Matthew McConaughey has celebrated his 50th birthday by joining the world of Instagram.
It’s more of a birthday gift to us than one for himself, but it appears the actor is having fun with his account and has already updated his grid.
Taking inspiration from Jennifer Aniston, the father-of-three might be late to join the online party but now he’s here, there’s no turning back.
And his first post is a hoot, as he welcomed his fans to his new venture.
Talking into the camera, the birthday boy explained his reasons behind making an account on the social media platform, and how he’s slightly nervous for what’s to come.
He told his initial 570,000 followers: ‘When people come to my page, I want them to see me.
‘Look, this is my first venture into sharing myself and my views with the world and I’m a little bit nervous about it because quite frankly, I know I want to have a monologue…’
The True Detective star added: ‘I’m not quite sure I want to have the dialogue. But I know I have to have the dialogue, too […] So I’m looking forward to it, I’m looking forward to it.
‘I’m looking forward to sharing who I am with you, to seeing if who I am translates, if what I want to share translates…
‘If it tickles your funny bone, if it makes you think a second, if it makes your heart swell up a little bit, if it makes you take a quiet moment and go for a walk… Let’s have some fun with it though.’
Fans were quick to comment where they celebrated the star’s arrival.
‘This is going to be classic,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Finallyyyyyy! Making sure to turn post notifications all the way ON!’
Someone else said: ‘It’s like God sent me this today.’
But while he’s new to the gram, Matthew is no stranger when it comes to social media as he runs the account for his brand, Wild Turkey bourbon.
Just recently, the much loved Wolf Of Wall Street actor worked with the Operation BBQ Relief team, to provide 1,600 meals to first responders and shelters battling the fires in Los Angeles.
He said in a Facebook Live that California is his second home so helping out while the fires ravaged homes was probably an easy choice for him.
