Meghan Markle Says There Were Racist Conversations in Royal Family About Archie's Skin Color

Meghan Markle has opened up to Oprah about the racism she experienced while living in England. Specifically, the duchess revealed that there was racist “concern” in the palace about Meghan Markle’s pregnancy and “how dark [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born.”

This is obviously horrifying, and whoever said this to Harry should be deeply ashamed. Oprah actually asked Meghan if she’d reveal who said this to Harry, and she responded, “I think that would be very damaging to them,” adding “That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that the family had with him.”

Over the years, Meghan has had to endure racist attacks in British tabloids, as well as on social media. The fact that the royal family weren’t there to support her is atrocious, and the fact that they were making racist comments about Meghan’s baby while she was pregnant is absolutely horrifying. So glad the Sussexes were able to move on from this toxic, oppressive environment.
