Miranda Lambert And Tourmates Win ACM’s Music Event Of The Year Award
Miranda Lambert and her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tourmates won this year’s ACM Music Event of The Year award for their collaborative performance of a cover of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.”
The Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars team, consisting of Lambert, Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack and Elle King, released their version in September 2019, marking the celebration of the start of their Fall tour. Jay Joyce produced the collab.
“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” was originally written and released by Elvin Bishop in the mid-1970s. Before Lambert and her mates, several other artists, including TG Sheppard and Mark Wills, Rod Stewart, and the Winery Dogs covered the track.
The all-women crew’s collaboration competed against Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber‘s “10,000 Hours,” Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton‘s “Dive Bar,” Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus‘ “Old Town Road” and Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell‘s “What Happens in a Small Town” for the award in the Music Event of The Year category.
The ACM Awards took place on September 16 and the show, hosted by Keith Urban, was broadcast on CBS from three separate Music City venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, the Bluebird Cafe and the Ryman Auditorium.
