Gardeners’ World tonight will be returning with another new episode fronted by Monty Don. However, some eagle-eyed viewers have noticed it will have a format change when it returns at the earlier time of 8pm.
Following Monty’s latest update on the show, many have taken to social media to share their excitement.
He posted bright and early this morning about the latest episode to his 232,000 followers.
Monty penned: “Gardeners World tonight is shot through with sunshine, salvias, squashes.
“Carol [Klein]’s summer sensations – and lots of other lovely things that don’t begin with S!”
While he didn’t mention the show would be airing an hour earlier than it has this series so far, many took to his replies to share their delight.
One wrote: “And it starts at 20.00 right @TheMontyDon ?!? Yay! 9pm was far too late.”
A second penned: “8pm I believe. I might be relegated to the laptop by the football…..”
“So happy…gardeners world is like a giant fluffy hug on a Friday night,” added a third.
“Looking forward to another great show! Thank you Monty,” added a fourth.
However, not everyone was so thrilled about the time change as it will coincide with England’s match against Scotland in the Euros tonight.
A follower wrote: “Love GW – realistically though will save for the morning on catch up. Come on England”
Another added with some Scotland and England flag emojis: “It’s an iPlayer job this week.”
This all comes after Monty previously agreed with viewers who were disappointed the show was airing at 9pm on Friday evenings.
One follower wrote to him about how the show “doesn’t feel the same” a few weeks ago.
They penned: “We’ve realised that 8 o’clock was exactly the right time for #GardenersWorld, the evening rhythm could revolve about that.
“What difference could putting it back an hour make? But it does. 9 doesn’t feel the same.
“We’ve started to watch on iPlayer on a different [email protected]”
The beloved gardening presenter then simply replied: “I agree.”
Now it seems the BBC has listened to the feedback and the show will be airing at 8pm for the next few weeks.
Tonight’s episode sees Monty appear with co-presenters Nick Bailey and Carol.
In a synopsis for the episode, the BBC teased: “Monty places succulents outside and plants out dahlias and tender vegetables.
“Carol Klein visits Trebah Garden in Cornwall, and Nick Bailey looks at a variety of shrubs at RHS Wisley.”
Gardeners’ World airs at 8pm tonight on BBC Two.
