Olly Murs shared a candid update on Instagram today, as the musician admitted he was still in pain after undergoing knee surgery. It comes after the Dance With Me Tonight hitmaker injured himself on stage at an open-air concert.

A fragment of bone became lodged in the back of his knee after he jumped into the air during his show at Newmarket’s July Racecourse.

The 37-year-old has now taken to the picture-sharing site to share his grievances over his slow recovery.

The singer said he was “frustrated” as he shared a photo of himself sporting plasters around his knee.

Wearing his gym kit, Olly posed for a selfie in view of his 3.6 million followers.

He added the caption: “Painful. Yes. Getting better everyday. Yes.

“Annoyed and frustrated. Yes. But we move.”

In an earlier Instagram story, Olly could be seen doing pull-ups in the gym while wearing a bandage to support his knee.

The performer previously shared some gruesome images following his surgery last week.

Olly posted a picture of the bones that were lodged into his knee with another showing his bandaged joint.

He’s due to perform at Newbury Racecourses on Saturday and at Singleton Park on Sunday.

The singer said he wanted to make sure he made those concerts although he did warn they might be a little bit different.

In a video on Instagram from hospital he said: “It’s been a mad 72 hours since the gig getting to this.”

He thanked fans who came to the concert for the “kind messages of support and checking I was OK”.

The former X Factor star said the injury “basically shut my leg down and during the gig [and] I was limping the whole time”.

The Voice mentor continued: “I probably won’t be running around like I normally do, there might be a stall for me to sit down on.”

In 2019, Olly previously had surgery on his knee after suffering ligament damage.

At the time, his only focus was to get better and back to doing what he loved.

“My life is going to get back, I’m not going to have any pain in my knee anymore,” he said.

“I’ll be able to live a better life when I have a family.”

The singer went on to credit his girlfriend Amelia Tank for looking after him during his troubled time.
