Our Idiot Brother child star Matthew Mindler found dead aged 19
Matthew Mindler, an actor who starred opposite Paul Rudd has died aged 19 after being declared missing.
Mindler, who starred in 2011’s Our Idiot Brother, had been declared missing from his university in Pennsylvania late on Wednesday after failing to return to his dorm room or answer calls from friends and family.
TMZ reports that law enforcement confirmed his body had been found but did not reveal the cause of death.
The college he attended confirmed his death with an announcement to the student body, stating: ‘It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University.
‘A search had been underway for Matthew since Thursday, after he was reported missing. Matthew was found deceased this morning, Saturday, August 28, in Manor Township near campus.’
Mindler had last been seen on campus CCTV walking to a parking lot on Tuesday evening, wearing a white hoodie with black stripes, a hat, and jeans.
Police had appealed for information, saying in a statement: ‘Matt attended classes Monday and Tuesday but did not attend yesterday or this morning. University Police are in contact with Matt’s mother and are working with campus staff for assistance in locating Matt.’
Mindler was best known for his role in the 2011 film Our Idiot Brother alongside Paul Rudd, but was also featured in As The World Turns and 2013’s Frequency.
He last appeared in 2015′s Solo and 2016’s TV movie, Chad: An American Boy.
