Strictlys Adam Peatys mum accuses show of being fixed as she fumes over sons exit
FollowingAdam Peaty's shock departure from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday 7 November, his mum, Caroline, took to social media to share her thoughts.
Adam was up against Tilly Ramsay in the dance off, but the judges voted in favour of the 19 year old CBBC presenter, making him the sixth celeb to leave the show.
In light of Adam being voted off, Caroline accused Strictly of being “fixed”.
She wrote on Twitter: “Proud @adam_peaty and @Mrs_katjones such an amazing partnership and @Mrs_katjones you have taught my baby boy how to dance, thank you x Total fix and I’m not buying the public vote”.
Adam’s dance partner Katya Jones replied to Caroline’s tweet thanking her for her support.
She wrote: “Thank you for your support Caroline and the entire family. He is definitely a dancer inside and I’ve seen it with my eyes! What a privilege it’s been for me.”
Strictly viewers echoed Caroline’s disappointment on Adam being voted off. One person said: “I agree, the result did seem to be a fix. No way did they deserve to go out this week.”
Someone else penned: “It’s a sad fact that the public vote is on Polarity and not ability. Adam doesn’t have the followers or the platform that some of the less able celebrities had. But they had public support which kept them out the bottom two. It’s a popularity contest not a dance one I’m afraid”.
A third said: “He was marvellous, Caroline, on the floor and off it. We have really enjoyed watching him."
Speaking to the Strictly audience after having been voted off, Adam spoke of his new found respect for professional dancers.
He said: “I have absolutely loved every single challenge. I've never had a challenge like this. As an Olympian for 16 years, I've pushed my body to places I never thought they'd be pushed.
"I've so much respect for dancers across the world. It's just a great, great experience."
The Olympic swimmer also shared a lengthy post on Instagram where he said he was “grateful” for his time on Strictly.
Adam wrote: “I’m so grateful for my time on this show, from the highs of performing in front of millions and the extreme challenge of learning a new routine within 3 days every week, it’s been incredible.
“I didn’t know how much it meant to me until I got a bit emotional after my dance off; however, I don’t think it was the dancing that pushed me over the edge, but the two years of the constant challenge with myself combined with the energy to win the Olympics and becoming a father at the same time. My emotions are one of my strongest attributes and I’m not ashamed to show that I’m human.”
