Gardeners’ World host Adam Frost regularly entertains viewers with his expert knowledge and tips on the BBC programme. The presenter rarely gives insights into his marriage to wife Sulina Frost but recently opened up about their relationship.

The 51-year-old recently gave a rare insight into his home life with his other half.

The garden designer admitted the couple tend to have a difference of opinion over which programmes to tune in to together, when they’re relaxing in front of the TV.

The TV host revealed that his partner often takes “charge” as he dished the details.

In an interview with Radio Times, Adam said: “My missus has asked me not to tell you.

“She’s in charge, but it takes quite a long time to work out what she wants.

“We start something, but then she goes back to the EPG [electronic programme guide], so I watch this little screen in the corner till she decides.”

The small-screen star also revealed the types of shows that the pair enjoy watching together, including BBC drama I May Destroy You and the Salisbury Poisonings.

While Adam explained that he is more of a romantic, Sulina is the total opposite.

The presenter said: “My lovely wife prefers people getting killed and I prefer romance, so we try to find a happy medium.”

It is not known when they tied the knot, but the couple have four children together.

Speaking about his family life, Adam said he wanted his children to enjoy a better childhood than he did.

“I’ve got four lovely children, and I wanted them to have a better childhood than my own,” he explained.

“We’re a tight-knit bunch, and I can’t think of any better place to live than here.”

Speaking to House Beautiful in 2018, Adam added: “The girls have their own horses, and the boys have space to play football.

“Weekends are spent watching from the sidelines at matches and taking the girls to pony club events.”

Adam tends to keep his private life out of the spotlight but sometimes shares glimpses of his relationship on social media.

Meanwhile, main presenter Monty Don announced that he would be taking a short break away from Gardeners’ World.

The avid gardener explained: “That’s it for today. We’ve run out of time and I’m going to be away next week.”

Monty stated his co-star Adam would be holding down the fort whilst he’s away from hosting tonight’s show.

Gardeners’ World airs Fridays on BBC Two at 9pm.
