Taylor Swift, Evermore Theme Park Drop Dueling Lawsuits
Taylor Swift and Evermore, a fantasy theme park in Utah, have agreed to end their legal battle by withdrawing lawsuits both parties filed against each other.
“As a resolution of both lawsuits, the parties will drop and dismiss their respective suits without monetary settlement,” the pop superstar’s spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.
Evermore had filed a lawsuit against Swift last month, alleging the singer had infringed its trademark by using the park’s name for her December album.
Evermore Park claimed that the release of Swift’s Evermore caused “actual confusion,” negatively affecting the park’s online presence, along with infringing on its marketing and merchandise, and impacting its visitors.
Swift’s rights management company filed a counter-suit against the theme park, claiming Evermore Park routinely played Swift’s music on its grounds “without authorization or license agreement.”
