Taylor Swift’s Lawyer Speaks Out, Refutes Scott Borchetta’s Claims

Taylor Swift‘s lawyer is speaking out to refute claims made by Big Machine Label Group founder Scott Borchetta.

Over the weekend, the 29-year-old singer expressed her disappointment to find out that the label, and also her master recordings, were sold to Scooter Braun for $300 million.

Taylor says she was never given an opportunity to buy her masters and wrote in a blog post that Scott only offered to let her “‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one [she] turned in.”

Scott denied the claim and said that “100% of all Taylor Swift assets were to be transferred to her immediately upon signing the new agreement” to stay at the label.
