The Weeknd Steps Out with Bruised Face Makeup, Seemingly for VMAs Performance
The Weeknd steps out of his hotel with bruises covering his face on Thursday (August 27) in New York City.
The 30-year-old singer was also seen leaving his hotel, and arriving back later that night, on Wednesday. He wore the same red suit and had the bruises all over his face.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, seemingly is wearing face makeup while prepping his performance for this weekend’s 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. It’s possible that he was on set these days filming footage for the big night.
In a recent interview, The Weeknd said that his song “Blinding Lights” is about drunk driving.
“‘Blinding Lights’ [is about] how you want to see someone at night, and you’re intoxicated, and you’re driving to this person and you’re just blinded by streetlights,” he told Esquire. “But nothing could stop you from trying to go see that person, because you’re so lonely. I don’t want to ever promote drunk driving, but that’s what the dark undertone is.”
In the same interview, The Weeknd addressed his feud with another popular male artist.
