Fear of God and Grey Ant Debuts "The 1983" Sunglasses

“The 1983” features Jerry Lorenzo‘s Fear of God and New York-based challenger eyewear brand Grey Ant. Together they reinterpret ’80s eyewear, creating a collection of newfound classics exhibiting “the unequaled confidence and rebelliousness that characterized the historic decade.”

The frames draw inspiration from old American archetypes and are handmade in Italy using gunmetal-plated hinges, Carl Zeiss lenses, Italian cellulose acetate, and adjustable nose pads. Released complimentary to Fear of God’s Seventh Collection, “The 1983” is defined as “the new American luxury.”

The “Polished Black” and “Polished Taupe” frames will retail at $285 USD and are now available exclusively online at Fear of God and Grey Ant. The “Grey Horn” frame will retail for $298 USD and is sold exclusively on Nordstrom.

In case you missed it, Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s artwork is featured on the latest Nike Air More Uptempo.
