First Look at the Next Concepts x New Balance 998 Collaboration
New Balance has been churning out collaborations at an alarming rate in recent memory. After showing off its latest San Francisco-inspired 2002R team-up with Shoe Palace and previewing its forthcoming “Forever Yours” 550 project with NBA agent Rich Paul, the brand is now teasing its upcoming 998 collaboration with longtime partner Concepts.
The exact inspiration behind the design has yet to be confirmed by both parties, but the first leaked images of the pair reveal a plethora of its bold details. Standing out across the upper are the tongues, laces and overlays that are placed atop the mid-foot, heels and toe boxes as they are all treated with a bright magenta pig suede while perforated white leathers lie underneath. Dusty pink accents poke out across the N logos and quarter panel molds while the lower heel counters are dyed in a golden yellow tone. Down below, the midsoles are stuffed with New Balance‘s signature ABZORB cushioning and come rounded out by all-black treading.
Take a peep at the kicks in the photo gallery above, and be on the lookout for more information regarding its official release in the coming months.
