Meanswhile’s FW21 Hybrid Down Series Blends Style and Warmth

For the Fall/Winter 2021 season, Meanswhile presents its new hybrid down series that was inspired by art and design from the post-Industrial Revolution and the creation of Bauhaus in 1919. Designer Naohiro Fujisaki encapsulates the principle “form follows function” for a collection that fuses style and warmth — including a hybrid down jacket, transformable blanket poncho and a muffler.

Leading the collection is the 750-fill Thinsulate hybrid down jacket that fuses down and synthetic insulation. The jacket features two chest hand-warming inner pockets, a Thinsulate-lined back, and adjustable side slits for ventilation. Additionally, the outer layer is made of translucent ripstop nylon and comes in colors blackberry, mandarin and moon. Complementing the jacket is the down blanket in matching colors that can be worn as a poncho due to its backpack chest straps or as an outer coat layer with adjustable drawcords.

Rounding out the collection is a lightweight down neck muffler consisting of a soft raised fabric and a ripstop nylon shell. The muffler comes in blackberry, mandarin and moon colorways and also features a 750-fill down insulation.

Ranging from ¥18,700 JPY (about $168 USD) to ¥96,000 JPY (about $867 USD), the down series is available now on Meanswhile’s website.
