Sleepers Speed Shop and Native Sons Deliver Soup'd-Up Mckowski Frames

Sleepers Speed Shop, a Costa Mesa-based automotive custom shop based specializing in hot rodding vintage and modern Porsches, is partnering with Japanese eyewear company Native Sons to produce a limited duo of classic Mckowski frames. The collaborative frames come in two colorways featuring gloss black frames. One design features honey tortoise temples and rose-colored lenses, which help with visibility while driving and lens glare, while the other incorporates mid-green/mil-spec olive drab lenses that reduce eye strain in bright light while increasing contrast in low-light situations.

Branding elements are seen through gold foil Sleepers eeEye and Native Sons motifs engraved on the right lens and inner temples, while technical features include medical-grade titanium cores with 16k gold-plated core wires, 4 barrel hinge accents, and hypoallergenic Takiron cotton oil acetates. Both sunglasses arrive in a custom fiberglass case referencing Porsche racecars and engines of the ’60s and early ’70s.

The Sleepers Speed Shop x Native Sons frames will be available on May 20 at 11 a.m. PST at the Sleepers and Native Sons websites.
