Is PS4 better than Xbox One?

The console war between Microsoft and Sony has been going on for several years.

Both the Xbox and PlayStation consoles have evolved, generation by generation, always head-to-head, always splitting the gamer community into two opposite sides.

When it comes to the confrontation between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it is worth noticing that both consoles have similar hardware specs.

Both have an 8-core x86-64 AMD Jaguar processor with 8GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon graphic card and a 500GB hard drive.

Generally speaking, it can be argued that in terms of sheer graphics, the PS4 Slim is better than the Xbox One S, while the Xbox One X wins against the PS4 Pro.

In terms of gaming exclusives, however, Sony emerges victorious.

There is no lack of exclusives for Xbox One, but arguably every single PS4 exclusive has been a huge success, ranging from God Of War to Horizon: Zero Dawn, Marvel's Spider-Man and the upcoming The Last of Us II.

That being said, both PS5 and Xbox Series X will both feature backwards compatibility, so it might be a sensible choice to plan accordingly when buying a PS4 or Xbox One now.

Is it worth buying a PS4 in 2020?

Many players who have been waiting to play Sony's latest exclusives are wondering if it would make sense to buy a PS4 now or whether they should wait for the PS5 release planned before the end of the year.

While the official price for PS5 has not been unveiled yet, rumours suggest it won't cost way more than the PS4 Pro (currently £350). Given the PS5's retro compatibility, it will be possible to play PS4 games on Sony's new console, so would it make sense to buy a PS4 now?

It is reasonable to assume that PS4 consoles, including the Slim, which currently costs £249, will see a substantial price decrease in the next couple of months. Many PS5 games will also be available for the PS4 for a time, just like it happened with PS3 games when the PS4 came out.

To sum it up, if you're in a rush of playing Sony's latest titles and don't have a big budget, getting a PS4 now could be a good idea, but if not, you'd better off waiting for the PS5.
