Bloke on walk with American girlfriend tests her knowledge of British names

A bloke has gone viral on TikTok after walking around asking his American girlfriend to name British things they spot.

Ben Reid, a creator with 1.4million followers on the app asked his girlfriend to name a postbox, cricket and Big Ben in a compilation of clips from their day out.

In the video, which has gained more than 96,000 likes, @itsbenreid is behind the camera asking questions to his girlfriend about various traditionally British things they see while out and about in London.

First, she is asked to share what she believes a red, royal postbox is called – to which she answers "fire hydrant."

In the next clip of the compilation, the pair are watching some locals play cricket, but she thought it was badminton because it's "softball with a paddle".

The final one shows the pair walking near Big Ben – a landmark which she immediately recognises, just not for the reason Brits do.

She said: "Oh my God babe, that's what they fly around in Peter Pan."

Although, she is right about the last one being featured in the Disney animated classic, she still left Brits in the TikTok comments in hysterics as they believe she needs to be educated about the UK.

One user commented: "Dude she's too cute, don't stop making these bud, she's learning soo much."

Another added: "Is she here to increase her education? I suggest junior school."

A third quipped: "You can go in the Peter Pan tower if you tell them you believe in fairies."

A fourth said: "This is so funny, I can’t."

Other people from overseas came to her defence in the comments as they claim they would have thought the same thing.

One user wrote: "I'm from Canada and I would have thought it was a fire hydrant too."

Another added: "To anyone saying this is not real, as an American, I can tell you that she is spot on."
