A Hollyoaks star was axed this week after her employers deemed it inappropriate for her to be on OnlyFans.
Sarah Jayne Dunn refused to stop posting sexy snaps on the explicit site and as such lost her job.
The actress, 40, had played Mandy Richardson in the Channel 4 soap since 1996.
But her long-term role collapsed just one month after announcing she had joined the adult website.
Here, we take a look at British women who decided to quit their more traditional jobs in order to make money on OnlyFans.
Surgery addicts Dolly and Daisy lost their dancing jobs in lockdown and decided to make OnlyFans accounts.
Since then they have spent £140 on plastic surgery to look as identical as possible.
The pair rake up £10,000 per month on the racy site and now say they never want to work for a boss again.
Daisy, 25, told the Daily Star last month: “I know people have had horrible times during Covid but it has been positive for us because everything has changed.
“We made enough money for the surgeries in the UK and now we don’t ever want to work again and we have the financial freedom to go anywhere we want.”
The real life Barbies, from Stockton-on-Tees, used to be bullied in school and during lockdown they got a boob job on the same day.
Hollie Munroe spent years helping the elderly after college by being a carer.
She used to graft up to 60 hours per week travelling to various homes – describing it as exhausting.
The 25-year-old said that although it was rewarding, the money was poor and she was only making £8 an hour.
Hollie then decided to scrap her career by jetting to Marbella to do OnlyFans.
In a recent exclusive interview with the Daily Star she said: “I get paid for doing basically nothing. I just sit on my phone for a few hours and that’s about it really.
“Now I get paid a lot more for doing a lot less.”
Hollie added that she doesn’t miss England at all and has no plans to leave the Costa Del Sol just yet.
Madelene Wright is a former professional footballer for Charlton Athletic and Millwall.
But she quit the beautiful game after Charlton released her after she was filmed apparently inhaling a balloon and drinking champagne behind the wheel of her Range Rover.
Maddie then joined OnlyFans earlier this year and her bio reads: “Angel face. Devil thoughts.”
She charges £24 per month for her explicit page which she promotes on her Instagram account where she has 266,000 followers.
After being released by Charlton, a club spokesperson said at the time: “The club were made aware of the video and quickly investigated the incident.
“As a club, we are disappointed with the behaviour which doesn’t represent the standards the team upholds.
“The player is remorseful and has now left the club.
"The club would like to make clear that although the behaviour is not acceptable, the player’s welfare remains important to us and she will still have access to the club’s support channels if needed.”
Jane Thomas-Charlton spent years as a special needs teacher until her health deteriorated.
The 49-year-old was suddenly left jobless and desperate to put food on the table for her two children.
She then swapped the classroom for the bedroom by joining OnlyFans.
The mum, from Stockton-on-Tees, told TeessideLive: “I like to think of it as moving away from the seedy side of things.
“Some people want older ladies who are more natural, it’s not all about being skinny and big lips. They just want natural and normal and I was all about that.
“Guys just want normal girls. Some of them just message saying ‘how are you today?’ I was quite surprised.”
Jayne was forced to ditch the £36,000 a year teaching job “she adored” because of health issues including fibromyalgia, cardiovascular angina and arthritis.
Amanda Sommer used to work as cabin crew for Ryanair until she turned her back on the role last year.
Instead she began selling sizzling snaps of herself on OnlyFans.
The 27-year-old from Hartlepool reportedly now earns £15,000 a month from the site.
Despite the upsides, she revealed to The Sun that men no longer date her because of her career choice.
She said: “I heard about OnlyFans and liked the idea of it because you can be there discreetly on your phone and my boyfriend wouldn’t find out.
“I didn’t want to stop doing it because I was doing so well and didn’t have to find a job but because I always have to be on my phone to make good money on there he got suspicious and caught me on the website and he said to me it’s basically cheating which I don’t believe it is.
“It’s just work to me.”
