Coronation Street spoilers: Johnny Connor makes a shock decision about the cobbles after returning to Underworld
JOHNNY Connor makes a shock decision about the cobbles after returning to Underworld next week in Coronation Street.
The former Rovers landlord has had a rough year after being sent to prison for a historic armed robbery.
Things only got worse when Johnny returned to the cobbles after his prison stint to find that his wife Jenny had cheated on him with Ronnie Bailey.
It looks like there’s more bad luck in store for Johnny next week as sinkhole contractor Leo heads into the Rovers with a bunch of flowers and sets his sights on Jenny.
Johnny calls at the Rovers hoping to have a drink with Jenny, only to find her entertaining Leo.
Later, he receives another blow when he hears Beth telling Carla that he’s past it and not up to the job.
Carla later finds Johnny drowning his sorrows at the Rovers.
Johnny tells Carla that Beth is right – it’s time he gave up his role at the factory and moved onto pastures new.
Johnny and Jenny are set to be involved in the ITV’s explosive stunt week this autumn, which will see a huge storm and a collapsed sinkhole collide and leave multiple families fighting for their lives.
Pics show Jenny and Johnny struggling to escape from the Victorian sewers beneath the cobbles as the water rises, but will they meet their end?
Corrie producer Iain MacLeod has already vowed that at least one character will be killed off during the stunt week, revealing: "We have a big stunt planned that will centre around the sinkhole in the Platt family’s back garden. And that will result in a death.
"Deaths only really work if it’s somebody that you really care about and it’s going to be somebody that viewers know and love.
"It is going to be classic Corrie. It will be tragic, but it will also be warm and funny."
