Leanne Ward, from Brisbane, gave birth to her daughter Mia eight months ago and said she ‘worked incredibly hard’ to get her pre-baby body back.

‘The biggest thing I have learnt is that making healthy choices and exercising regularly is hard with little sleep, full time work, a baby, running two businesses, trying to have a social life and building a new house,’ Leanne wrote in a post to Instagram.

‘Sure, genetics might play a role here but I also worked incredibly hard the last seven months and have lost a total of 13.6kg from my one week postpartum weight.’

The nutrition coach and podcast host shared photos of herself one month after giving birth compared to now, eight months later, when she is back to her pre-pregnancy weight.

Leanne admitted while her weight is the same as before she became pregnant, her body is different with less muscle and a higher fat mass but said she is ‘super proud and happy’ with her efforts throughout the busy year.

‘I’ve been following my own LEAN Gut Mind Method coaching plan I devise for my clients and reminding myself that slow and steady wins the race,’ she said.

‘Above all else, I’ve been CONSISTENT. I haven’t been perfect at all, just damn consistent every week.’

She added her 1.94kg monthly loss sounds like slow progress but is ‘realistic achievable and more importantly sustainable’.

‘I focused on fat loss for the first six months and this was a good focus when I didn’t have the time or energy to hit the gym,’ the new mum wrote.

‘But I must say, being back at the gym these last eight weeks has felt so good.’

Hundreds of the podcaster’s fan were wowed by her impressive and ‘inspiring’ results in the comments.

‘Amazing super mama. Slow progress realistic achievable and sustainable,’ one woman said.

‘This is what I love to see! Pregnant first-time mum here, and I know postpartum is going to be another new adventure for me. Thank you for sharing’ a mum-to-be replied.

‘Only in the beginning of my postpartum journey but taking it slow! Well done and thank you for being such an inspiration,’ another commented.
