Frankie Bridge shows off her simple yet effective ‘no hair wash hack
Anything that helps to push back our next hair wash (aside from dry shampoo of course) gets a big yes from us. And former The Saturdays star Frankie Bridge has just added to our inspo by sharing a simple yet effective way of doing so, that’ll keep your hair looking chic for an extra day or two when it’s borderline greasy.
Taking to Instagram Stories this week, the 33 year old showed off the chic hairstyle she’d been using to keep her hair going for four days since its last shampoo session with a handy hair accessory – a low bun with a giant scrunchie.
And although four days is the norm or even less than the amount of time that some hair types can happily go without washing, Frankie was delighted as she hadn’t managed to stretch hers out for so long until now.
“I’ve purposely not brought any styling tools away with me so that I can give any hair a bit of a break from all the heat,” she wrote alongside a profile shot of the hairstyle in a snap shared with her 1.5 million followers. “This is also day 4 of no hair wash… the longest I’ve ever gone! Ever in 33 years!”
She jokingly continued, “I know… I’m over here… achieving big things! Try not to feel inferior… Things like a low bun and a mahoosive scrunchie [are how I’m pushing back my next wash]. Go me! I’m buzzing about it tbf!”
Frankie isn’t the only one turning to hair accessories recently, as former Corrie star Helen Flanagan also jumped on a very 90s trend this month.
Talking to Instagram to share a gallery post of her outfit of the day with her million followers, Helen shared a side look at her soft brown toned makeup and her blonde hair swept up into the claw clip – although admittedly hers was a rather expensive designer option by Prada.
Of course, Helen’s fans were unsurprisingly quick to heap praise on the star’s gorgeous look. "So beautiful" one follower enthused, as another declared, "Love the side profile".
Meanwhile a third fan chimed in with, "Gorgeous" as a fourth agreed, "Beautiful". We quite agree.
Which retro hair accessory do we reckon is going to make a comeback next? We vote barrettes, or maybe even another headband resurgence…
