Full list of new direct debit and prepayment rates for British Gas, EDF, E.on, Octopus, Ovo and Bulb
As energy bills are set to soar even further as the cost of living crisis continues to pinch it can feel daunting to consider the arrival of your next bill.
Next month, energy prices will increase by around 50% across the board affecting every user in the UK.
Most energy firms are increasing their standard tariffs to the maximum allowed by the Ofgem price cap – £1,971.
Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert has also said that rates will be increasing for every bill payer in the UK from April 1.
So to get you in the best position to deal with the changes, we've listed the main changes to each provider. Let's take a look.
Firstly, it's important to stress that you may be able to apply for some financial support during this time.
The UK Government will pay £200 into every electricity bill-payer’s account to help offset the price cap. However, this will be repaid from April 2023 for five years.
If you are on a low income, you may be able to get a Crisis grant from your local council – find out more here.
If you are worried about paying your bills, you should also contact your energy supplier.
You are also eligible to save £150 on your council tax bill if you fall within bands A to D. This is non-repayable and will land in your bank account if you have a direct debit set up.
Contact your local council if you’re not sure where the money will go, but check your online Council Tax account first.
These are the expected increased rates for your energy company.
