How Dan Levy’s movie meltdown went unnoticed

It can’t be easy to shoot a movie from home. But there’s at least one advantage — you can have an on-set meltdown without getting a reputation as the next Christian Bale.

HBO’s “Coastal Elites” was shot by actors in isolation. At a virtual premiere, star Dan Levy said, “I didn’t know my lines well on the day [of his shoot]. I was screaming because I had it earlier, but then I get very nervous and I was so panicked and sweaty, and finally I took a little walk around my house and did it again.”

It also stars Bette Midler, Kaitlyn Dever, Sarah Paulson and Issa Rae.

Cinema Society hosted the event last week.

Levy went on to win four Emmys on Sunday night for his comedy series “Schitt’s Creek.”
