Will there be a second series of The Night Manager?

Possibly. Although, after a flurry of initial rumours, things have gone quiet and nothing has been confirmed for now.

In 2017, Director Susanne Bier told Broadcast the scrip was "slowly being developed" for the follow-up.

The Sun later exclusively revealed, writers are considering bringing back Hugh Laurie as evil arms-dealer Richard Roper.

However, the show's script writers will have to start from scratch as John le Carre did not pen a sequel to the book on which the drama is based.

And no air date has even been hinted at after Bier revealed that the team of writers are taking their time in order to make it as good, if not better, than the first series.

She told Broadcast: "We all very much want to do a season two, but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one.

"That would be a really bad idea."

Bier is believed to be working on the production with the BBC and American co-producers AMC.
