Irn-Bru and gin is the new tasty cocktail to try – here are three recipes

Who doesn't love a cocktail on a hot summer's day?

But have you ever thought about combining two Scottish favourites to make a delicious tipple?

Irn-Bru and Scottish gin can make some seriously tasty cocktails when mixed together.

So if you fancy trying something refreshing, the experts at Craft Gin Club have created three new cocktails.

Our colleagues at the Daily Record tested out the cocktails that feature a tasty twist on what you've probably already tried.

And we think these creations are guaranteed to shake things up this weekend to impress your pals.

The G & B

The experts at CGC say this Scottish rift on a gin and tonic is a delicious hit of sweetness that's perfect for summer.

What you'll need:

50ml Gin
100ml Irn-Bru
Orange to garnish

How to make it:

Fill a glass with ice and add 50 ml of gin.

Add 100ml of Irn-Bru and garnish with an orange wheel.

Glasgow meets New York with this tasty combo of raspberry and orange liqueurs, a dash of gin and of course our favourite ginger.

What you'll need:

45ml Gin
25ml Cointreau
30ml Irn-Bru
5ml Chambord
A squeeze of lime

How to make it:

Shake the gin, Cointreau and Chambord with ice.

Add to a glass, and top with Irn-Bru. Finish with a squeeze of lime.


The CGC team said: "The Negroni of the north!

"This riff on the classic drink replaces vermouth with Irn Bru, and we aren't sorry. Slightly bitter, slightly orange-y, we think it works."

What you'll need:

25ml Gin
25ml Campari
25ml Irn-Bru

How to make it:

Add the gin and Campari to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.

Pour into a rocks glass filled with ice and top up with the Irn-Bru.
