Serena takes reckless action and 8 more Holby City spoilers

It’s a massively emotional episode for Serena (Catherine Russell) in tonight’s Holby City as she faces a terrible reminder on the anniversary of her daughter’s death. Already at odds with Max McGerry (Jo Martin) over her plans for the hospital, she goes further out on a limb when the life of the person she blames for her daughter’s death is in her hands.

Chloe (Amy Lennox) and Nicky (Belinda Owusu) both find themselves hankering after the same man, and for everybody else it’s party time as the New Year approaches. But not everyone is feeling in the party mood. Here are all the spoilers to look out for.

1. It’s the third anniversary of the death of Serena’s daughter Elinor, and the events of that day are very much on her mind. Against advice she decides to work, but when she has to treat a patient who was a friend of her daughter’s the day becomes even more emotional.

2. Chloe’s counselling has been going well and she decides she’s ready to move on with her life and start dating again. She reveals to Nicky that she has a particular man in her sights – but will Nicky stand in her way?

3. Ange (Dawn Steele) and Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) are looking forward to spending New Year’s Eve together, but it seems that they have completely different ideas about what constitutes a good time. When Sacha (Bob Barrett) and Dominic (David Ames) decide to get involved to try to oil the wheels of romance, they don’t get the reaction they’d hoped for.

4. Ric Griffin (Hugh Quarshie) is back at work and everyone is pleased to see him, particularly Serena who has missed his steadying influence. But is Ric really on her side?

5. Nicky hasn’t heard from Kian (Ramin Karimloo) in a while and texts him to find out if he’s okay. When she finally hears from him, she’s concerned by what he tells her.

6. Max unveils her plans for the hospital, and it’s an agenda that’s going to have far-reaching consequences for the whole of Holby. Max asks Fletch and Serena to keep her plans to themselves, and meanwhile Max is keeping a tragic secret of her own.

7. Essie (Kaye Wragg) and Ben (Charlie Condou) have a date and Sacha’s not happy. Will he say anything?

8. Serena’s heart rules her head when a patient dies and she feels that history is repeating itself. She sets herself on a course of action that has devastating consequences for her patient – and for her Holby career.
