This adorable cat looks like Baby Yoda — and you can adopt her
One rescue kitty is finding her forever home through internet fame.
A North Carolina cat has gone viral due to her resemblance to the Mandalorian’s miniature green breakout star, Baby Yoda. Now, offers to adopt her are purrr-ing in.
The Child-evoking feline was found in Kannapolis, NC, by the local humane society. After arriving at the Cabarrus Animal Hospital, the poor creature was treated for a deep neck wound, respiratory infection and intestinal parasites — among other ailments. However, while treating her, vets couldn’t help but notice the critter’s likeness to the Child from Star Wars spinoff show “The Mandalorian,” reports “Good Morning America“.
“Everyone quickly fell in love with her,” said veterinarian assistant and Star Warrior Jana Aviles, who uploaded pics of fur-Baby Yoda to social media. The kitty became such a hit with fans that Aviles started a Facebook page titled “Baby Yoda Cat” where she provides regular updates on the rescue’s progress.
Baby Yoda Cat doesn’t yet have an official name, but that doesn’t bother her hordes of social-media admirers. “She is a beauty. THANK YOU,” gushed another. “I would love to have her,” said one newfound Facebook fan.
Indeed, Baby Yoda Cat has garnered adoption applications from potential owners nationwide, says Aviles. However she “won’t officially be available for adoption until her wounds are healed, she is spayed, microchipped and receives her second round of vaccines and dewormer,” per the Facebook page’s latest post.
In the interim, Star Wars fans will have to sate their Baby Yoda cravings with the Child’s myriad other iterations. For those living under a rock, the googly-eyed gremlin has spawned everything from car seat ads to bake-at-home cookies. Last week, an 11-inch-tall Baby Yoda plush doll became available for pre-order on the Disney website.
