Where to buy Pictionary Air cheapest as it sells out in shops

PARENTS have been sent into a frenzy after must-have Christmas gift Pictionary Air sold out across most major UK retailers – here we reveal the cheapest place to buy it.

We found the best price for Pictionary Air on the Argos website, where the revamped retro game is listed for £15.

The next cheapest deal is from The Entertainer and Smyths Toys, but here it costs £20 – which is a fiver more than you’d pay at Argos.

Annoyingly, all three retailers have sold out of Pictionary Air both online and in stores.

In case you didn't know, Pictionary Air is a modern take on the classic game, where what you draw in the air appears on your smart phone.

Demand for the Christmas gift reached a peak last week when ITV presenter Philip Schofield demonstrated how to play it on his How To Spend It Well At Christmas show.

Will Argos be restocking Pictionary Air?

Sadly, we don't know if Argos will be restocking Pictionary Air in time for Christmas.

We've asked the retailer if they know when customers can expect another order, but they've yet to get back to us.

The Sun will update this article if we get a response.

In the meantime, it's worth keeping an eye on their website in case more stock comes in.

You can also sign up for text updates by texting the catalogue number – for Pictionary Air it's 9395015 – followed by either your postcode, store town name, or number.

Text this information to 61201.

You can also try your luck in store, but we'd recommend calling ahead to check availability.

You can find your closest Argos by using the online store locator.

Will The Entertainer be restocking Pictionary Air?

The Entertainer told us they don't have an exact date for when Pictionary Air is coming back in stock.

Unfortunately, the toy retailer also added that it's unlikely to be before Christmas.

Keep checking back on their website in case this changes.

You can also sign up for email alerts which will tell you as soon as Pictionary Air is ready to order again.

If you want to see if your local shop has Pictionary Air in stock, find out where your nearest The Entertainer is right here.

Call ahead to avoid disappointment.

How to make sure you're paying the cheapest price

DO your research and make sure you're paying the best price possible for that purchase.

Prepare: Research the items you want to buy and find out the cheapest price. Websites like PriceSpy, PriceHistory and CamelCamelCamel will give you historical data on prices so you can see how much you should pay.

Get following: Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to its deals newsletter to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our Sun Money FB group too.

Earn cashback: Check websites like Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account, usually within 14 days.

Check for codes: Take a look at The Sun Vouchers, and see if you can get extra savings with discount codes.

Will Smyths Toys be restocking Pictionary Air?

On the Smyths Toys website, it says more Pictionary Air games are expected between December 14 and December 18.

We've contacted Smyths to confirm this but we're still waiting for a response.

Sadly there's no stock alert available for the toy retailer, so you'll need to check back on the website.

Looking to try in store? Find your closest Smyths Toys retailer by using the online store locator.

Make sure you check your nearest Smyth's availability before making the journey.

Where else can I buy Pictionary Air?

Because Pictionary Air is so in demand, anywhere else you can buy it will be more expensive than its RRP of £15.

We did some hunting around and the cheapest we could find the game in stock is on eBay for £43.50, including free post and packing.

As this is almost triple the price you'd pay in Argos, you need to consider if you're willing to pay this much for Pictionary Air.

The price is even higher on Amazon, where the best deal we found was £48.75, with free delivery.

Manufacturer Mattel told us they're working hard to bring out more stock in time for Christmas.

A spokesperson said: "Pictionary Air is the hottest game of 2019, with more than one Pictionary Air sold every 30 seconds last week.

"We can’t get Pictionary Air into UK stores fast enough, with unprecedented demand."
