A popular plant-based TikTok star has revealed why you should not throw away apple cores and has instead shown how to transform them into apple cider vinegar.

Brennan Kai, from Florida, creates her homemade apple cider with only three ingredients and uses it to clean and cook with.

To make the cider Brennan first stores all apple peels and cores from past desserts or snacks inside a container in her freezer.

Once the container is full she places the apple remains into a separate glass jar and fills it with water until the fruit scraps are completely covered.

Next Brennan sprinkles a small amount of sugar into the water, then sits a tea towel over the top of the opening and closes the jar lid.

She then allows the glass jar to sit inside a cool dry place for three to four weeks, this allows the scraps to ferment and break down.
