Ant McPartlins trophy gesture to Anne-Marie Corbett as he beams after wedding
Ant McPartlin had "jitters" ahead of tying the knot with his new wife Anne-Marie Corbett, according to body expert Judi James.
The Britain’s Got Talent host, 45, exchanged vows with his former PA on Saturday afternoon in a star-studded ceremony at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
Thankfully, Ant had his on-screen bestie and real-life best man Declan Donnelly along for the ride, as the two met up outside the church together before heading inside.
And, according to one body language expert, Dec might just have provided a lifeline to get Ant through his first round of nerves.
Leading communication and body language expert Judi said Dec was there to provide some "much-needed support" in the face of "groom jitters" on Ant’s behalf.
Judi explained: "It was clear from their poses on the way into the church that Dec was there beside Ant not just to complete the double-act vibe but to provide some much-needed support in the face of what looked like some groom jitters.
"Dec romped around playfully, grinning into the cameras and performing thumbs-up gestures, while Ant stood around looking rather more rigid and with a nervous looking grin on his face."
Judi spotted a transformation in Ant’s body language as soon as the ceremony was over and he emerged from the church as Anne-Marie’s husband.
"Once the ceremony was over, we could see a very different Ant walking out of the wedding with his new bride Anne-Marie," she said.
"His smile has now relaxed and looks like signals of genuine joy and happiness rather than a performed act of teeth-baring bravado.
"The tension seems to have drained out of his body and his posture is far more relaxed.
"Clutching Anne-Marie’s hand he raises the clasp slightly in what looks like a trophy gesture of delight and the mirroring between him and Anne-Marie suggests he has switched from one supportive and loyal double-act partner to another," she elaborated.
Ant and Anne-Marie proceeded to the Heckfield Place hotel for an exclusive reception following their stunning ceremony, attended by celebrity guests including Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Cat Deeley and Dermot O’Leary.
BGT judge David Walliams and his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Page 3 icon Keeley Hazell, also attended the star-studded event.
The couple kept it classy with gorgeous displays of white, purple and pink flowers framing the church and its archway, with a similar colour scheme branching out into the bridesmaids’ dresses and in Ant’s button-hole.
It’s expected Ant’s 100 guests will now enjoy a £1,000 a night stay at Heckfield Place, and encouraged to bill use of the spa facilities to the honeymoon suite.
