Come Into My Life singer Joyce Sims dies as tributes pour in for music icon

    Come Into My Life singer Joyce Sims has passed away aged 63.

    The news the singer's passing was announced on social media by CJ Carlos, who worked at Chelsea Football Club, who said she died on Saturday (October 15).

    Joyce's cause of death is yet to be revealed.

    Bursting onto the R&B music scene in the 1980s, the American star achieved first hit the charts in 1986 with the hit All and All.

    She went on to gain worldwide recognition after the release of the 1987 hit Come Into My Life which reached the top 10 on both the US Billboard R&B Chart and the UK Singles Chart and later became her signature song.

    Joyce was an extremely gifted songwriter and pianist, writing most of her own hits and releasing several more tracks in the following years, Lifetime Love, Walk Away and Looking for a Love.

    The soul star was sampled by several music icons during her career, including jazz vocalist Randy Crawford, rapper Snoop Dogg and R&B singer Angie Stone.

    Her music was also extended to films as she wrote and performed the tracks played on 1995's Species.

    Tributes have already begun flooding social media as the world mourns the one of a kind star.

    Soul Tracks penned: "We are devastated to pass on the news of the death of R&B music great Joyce Sims at age 63. A great talent who sang, wrote and played for us for more than three decades."
