Fans React to Demi Lovato's New Album 'Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over'

Four years after her last studio album, Demi Lovato released her latest one, called Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over on April 2. Lovato put out the album alongside her explosive YouTube documentary series that dove into her life following her much-publicized 2018 overdose. Fans took their opinions to social media for their reactions on Lovato’s newest body of work.

Demi Lovato released her newest album after YouTube series

A year after singing at the Grammy Awards and Super Bowl, Lovato gave fans her first album in years. The singer experienced a tragic overdose in 2018 that almost cost her her life. But the former Disney Channel star triumphed and sought help for her issues.

The singer came out of that incident and wanted to get back into singing, as outlined in her YouTube docu-series. Lovato signed with Scooter Braun’s management company, and she worked with him to pave a new way forward for her career.

Under Braun’s management, Lovato released songs “Anyone” and “I Love Me” as singles following her overdose. At the start of 2020, Lovato’s album plans were put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But a year later, Lovato fans can now happily stream Dancing With the Devil…the Art of Starting Over. Here’s what fans had to say about the new album.

Fans reacted to Demi Lovato’s album on social media

One of the first to weigh in on the album was Lovato’s supporter and manager, Braun. “This album is just remarkable,” he wrote on Twitter. “@Ddlovato you did that – no skips.”

Music writer and editor Ilana Kaplan commented; “This Demi album is truly stunning. One of the best vocalists of our time!!!”

News professional Emma Jerome wrote on her Twitter profile: “Dancing With the Devil is peak @ddlovato in the sense that this is the best she’s been, but just the beginning of where she goes from here.”

Another fan expressed: “She’s been here in the music industry for a reason. This album shows her versatility as an artist, delivering growth and insane vocals. Demi Lovato, you did it.”

Someone else is already asking for more from the singer.

“The album has 19 freaking songs but it’s so cohesive and good that it literally went by so fast I wanted more,” the fan said on Twitter.

While another album is likely a long way away, Lovato is coming out with more content soon. The final episode of her docu-series is around the corner.

The last episode of ‘Dancing with the Devil’ comes out after her album

Lovato has been releasing episodes of her YouTube series in weekly episodes. Each video has revealed new information about Lovato’s state of mind in 2018 and after her overdose. The series includes commentary from Lovato’s friends, family, and colleagues.

The last episode of the series will be available the week after her album comes out. Bonus content is on the video platform for those with YouTube Premium accounts, as well.
