Hollyoaks' Sylver McQueen star David Tag has delighted audiences in one of his first roles since his soap exit earlier this year, as he showcased his hidden talent for musical performance.

The star looked unrecognisable as he wowed as the Ringmaster in Goldilocks and The Three Bears at Liverpool's Epstein Theatre on Tuesday night (December 13), alongside an all-star cast including Britain's Got Talent's Mama G.

Filled with fun for all the family, Goldilocks and The Three Bears followed David's Ringmaster and love of his life Goldilocks as they joined forces with the three bears, to stop evil villain Baron Von Vippemall.

Dressed head to toe in a vintage-inspired ringmaster's outfit, before changing into an open waistcoat and covered in glitter for the second act, the character was world's away from David's soap counterpart.

Showcasing his flair for musical performance, the Hollyoaks heartthrob's breathtaking vocal skills were also on display throughout the night.

David opened the show with an impressive musical performance of Get Ready, with the actor strutting his dance moves alongside the talented cast.

Pleasing the crowd once more with a beautiful solo number during a scene full of acrobatic tricks, it wouldn't be surprising if a career in musical theatre is on the cards for David in the future.

Joined by the incredible Olivia Sloyan as Goldilocks, their energy onstage filled you with happiness, with the duo performing routines worthy of a Strictly Come Dancing stint in the first act as they delighted with a rendition of Dancing In the Street.

Meanwhile, Britains' Got Talent semi-finalist Mama G left the audience roaring with laughter as Goldilocks' mother Gerty, with one-liners and dry wit that left you grinning from ear to ear – including an amusing scene featuring directions that the star had to deliver at fast pace.

Becoming quicker to deliver the dialogue as the lines were repeated, Mama G deserved a standing ovation for that one scene alone.

From quick multiple costume changes scene to scene that left you in awe, to Mama G's hilarious interactions with the audience, the BGT star was a delight to watch throughout – and looked stunning in every single outfit.

Mama G and Olivia Sloyan also had the audience singing along, as they delivered pitch-perfect performances of hit songs including How Will I know, while Katy Mac, Benjamin Keith and Hannah Riley cemented their status as rising stars to watch out for in their roles as the three bears.

Joining them was Timothy Lucas, who stole every scene he was in as Baron Von Vippemall, with the villain becoming both terrifying and hilarious as he popped up about the theatre at unexpected times.

Timothy and Brandon McCaffrey's Silly Billy also delivered the stand out scene of the night, as the Baron tried to trick Silly Billy into helping him destroy Gerty's circus.

Full of physical comedy humour and tongue-twisting dialogue, the scene had the audience crying with laughter as the fun escalated.

The star-studded performance also featured breathtaking feats including acrobatic tricks and jaw-dropping aerial performances that added an extra layer of magic to the pantomime.

While some of the jokes were a little hit and miss, the pantomime was an enjoyable festive treat for all the family.

Filled with plenty of surprises, Goldilocks and The Three Bears is a thrilling pantomime from start to finish.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears runs at Epstein Theatre from Fri 9 Dec 2022 – Sun 1 Jan 2023.
