Grammy award winner Adele first burst onto the music scene in 2007 after graduating from the prestigious performance arts academy, Brit School.
The singer became an instant hit amongst music lovers in the late noughties with her debut album 19 becoming multi-platinum in the UK and triple platinum in the US.
In 2009, Adele’s success and stardom failed to cease, as she won the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammys.
Though her career has gone from strength to strength, the Hello singer has certainly sparked attention with her dramatic weight loss and transformative looks.
Adele has announced on Tuesday that she will be releasing her latest single, Easy On Me, on October 15.
Daily Star has taken a look back at Adele’s incredible weight loss transformation as she confirms her return to music after a six-year hiatus.
In 2008, Adele catapulted to fame with her single Chasing Pavements at twenty years old. Back then, Adele, who was known for her thick red hair and dramatic black eyeliner was vocal about her portrayal in the music industry and insisted she was not "insecure" about her appearance.
Speaking candidly about her physique in 2009, Adele told the Daily Mail: "I have never been insecure, ever, about how I look, about what I want to do with myself.
"My mom told me to only ever do things for myself, not for others."
She also told People that anyone that she worked with who told her to shed the pounds would never work with her again.
The performer explained: "I’d lose weight if I was an actress and had to play a role where you’re supposed to be 40 pounds lighter, but weight has nothing to do with my career.
"Even when I was signing a contract, most of the industry knew if anyone ever dared say lose weight to me, they wouldn’t be working with me."
By 2011, things changed for Adele in a much more personal way.
After meeting her then-husband, charity CEO Simon Konecki, in 2012 and giving birth to her son Angelo, the musician decided to switch up her look.
Adele opted for a healthier diet by giving up her habit of 10 cups of tea with sugar a day, and the star also stopped smoking and eating spicy foods.
Despite the evident change in her appearance and the glamorous attire she wore on red carpets, the Skyfall singer was still very vocal about how she felt concerning her body and said, "I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't".
In 2015, the Grammy winner shocked her fans when she stepped up her fitness regime again.
Before her tour commenced in 2016, the singer decided to get fit in order to "get some stamina" for her impactful performances.
Talking to Rolling Stone at the time, Adele explained: "I like looking nice, but I always put comfort over fashion… Be happy and healthy.
"I’ve never had a problem with the way I look. I’d rather have lunch with my friends than go to a gym."
By 2017, the singer had lost a stone. At the time, MailOnline claimed she had taken part in the popularised Sirtfood diet.
The Sirtfood diet suggests eating plant foods such as kale and buckwheat to suppress appetite and "activate the body's 'skinny gene".
In 2019, Adele’s relationship with her husband Simon had run its course and the couple separated in April of that year.
By September the singer filed for divorce. Though the pair had been together since 2012, reports claimed they officially married in 2018.
The unexpected change in her romance department led the singer to drop even more pounds, leaving fans across the globe shocked by her new appearance.
Attending rapper Drake’s birthday celebrations in 2019, Adele sparked a conversation after pictures emerged of her sporting a dramatically slimmer appearance.
The Mirror reported that the star had lost an incredible three stone at the time.
For her birthday last year, Adele showcased her new toned physique yet again after she uploaded a picture of herself wearing a long-sleeved black dress that ended above her knees.
The mother of one looked cheerful in the pic as she posed around a circle of flowers, highlighting her seven stone weight loss.
Captioning the post, the star wrote: "Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time.
I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels."
Fans of the star congratulated her new look and took to the comment section to send her some love.
One impressed supporter wrote: "You are looking amazing. A good example and giving me hope that I can maybe achieve my perfect weight one day."
In October 2020, Adele impressed fans with her performance on Saturday Night Live where she fronted a glamorous look, wearing her long strawberry blonde hair past her shoulders.
Though the singer gave an impressive performance on the night, many fans couldn't help but mention her stunning appearance.
