Jungle legend MC Skibadees dies as tributes pour in for iconic DJ

MC Skibadee has sadly passed away, his family announced, with tributes already pouring in for the late Jungle musician.
The Jungle and Drum 'n Bass MC first burst onto the music scene in 1993.
He was known as a pioneer and complimented for his Jungle beats after he added Drum and Bass tempo over a Hip-Hop beat which created a doubltime effect in 1997.
Breaking the news regarding his death, the MC's family posted on social media: "Hello everyone, as Alphonsos first born I unfortunately come some with sad news to say that Skibadee has passed away, as a family we ask for some privacy but may he rest in peace."
They also added love heart emojis to the post.
MC Skibadee, whose real name Alfonso Bondzie, began his career in 1993 on City Sound Radio.
In recent years the star became a member of the drum and bass group SASASAS.
One of the first artists to share their sadness regarding his death was So Solid Crew's Lisa Maffia who shared her disbelief online.
The star penned: "Not to sure what to say! Another pioneer gone!
"My heart goes out to your beautiful daughters, family and friends. DnB finest @therealskibagram I’m sorry to hear this news. Rest well sir #skiba #RIP."
While others also shared their tributes on Twitter for the star, including one from DJ Fresh who wrote: "I cannot believe I’m writing this. RIP @TheRealSkibz MC Skibadee. His contribution to Drum and Bass can never be equaled.
"He was first and foremost a great guy I always really enjoyed spending time with. Goodbye old friend, we will keep your memory alive forever.
Another social media wrote: "Skibadee was your favourite MC’s favourite MC’s favourite MC. I think he was the first person I ever heard MC, and I’m sure that would be the same for a lot of people my age. Can’t underestimate the foundations that guy built for everything we’ve had since then."
While another penned: "Damn i am so sad about Skibadee. An actual legend that definitely had an impact on the movement of jungle music in America. I’m so thankful for him."
