Katie Price suns herself in Portugal as she slams lockdown-breaking influencers
Katie Price has slated social media influencers who broke lockdown rules over the course of the last year and went abroad, as she hopped on one of the first flights out of London after the travel ban was lifted.
The 42-year-old could barely contain her excitement at being able to jet off on a sunny holiday with her fiancé Carl Woods as soon as the next stage of restrictions eased this week.
But she made sure to let fans know she didn’t agree with all the influencers who shared snaps of them sunning themselves while the rest of the nation was holed up at home in the UK.
In a series of messages to her 2.6million fans, the mum-of-five shared that hers and Carl’s flights cost a minuscule £7 each.
She revealed that the former Love Island star had treated her to the trip to celebrate her 43rd birthday.
Yet after receiving criticism from some of her fans, Katie insisted she had been following the rules closely all the way through lockdown.
"I'd just like to say that I've been dying for a holiday but I've been living and breathing lockdown with every British citizen," the reality TV star explained.
"Not trying to make out I'm an 'influencer' just to get me to Dubai and other places just to do 'pictures for Instagram'.
"So British public now if you can book a holiday. But PCR tests you have to do them."
Katie warned that going abroad at this stage may not be possible for everyone as the tests are "expensive", and even cost more than her actual holiday.
Despite that, Katie shared a series of pics in the stunning Portuguese sunshine with her beau, and things looked heavenly for the couple.
Staying in a hotel next to an empty pool all to themselves and sipping from coconuts, the pair were living the high life.
"It’s so nice to be in the sun and I’m sorry it’s raining at home," Katie also told her followers, adding that she and Carl had had one of the smoothest security check-ins she’d ever experienced.
Carl teased his wife-to-be in the background about some of the other criticism she’s received, as he chimed in: "You shouldn’t be on holiday you’re bankrupt."
"They say I'm bankrupt, hard-up but I'm loved-up, sunned-up and having luck and I'm in luck. Why? Because I'm in the sun," Katie fired back with a laugh.
The business-woman continued to shared various pictures and videos of her enjoying a relaxing break by the pool.
