Paul Weller wants to slap The Cures Robert Smith as he brands him fat c***

Rock veteran Paul Weller has branded The Cure’s Robert Smith a “k**b-end” and would rather “slap” him than record music together.

Just the sight of goth legend Smith gets the 64-year-old Modfather riled up.

Weller ranted: “F***ing fat c***, with his lipstick and all that b*****ks. He’s my age as well, isn’t he?

“He’s a f***ing k**b-end, man. I wouldn’t work with him. I’d f***ing slap him or something.”

Back in 2004, Robert revealed that The Jam – Paul's old band – had helped them during the recording of their debut album Three Imaginary Boys without their knowledge, so it could be that there is some bad blood from that time.

Robert told Rolling Stone: "The Jam were recording their album during the day and we used to sneak in at night and use their equipment – we knew the bloke who was looking after it – to record our album. We just borrowed tape and stuff."

However the duo have clashed before too, as Robert said in 1985 that the punk movement came about because people wanted music to dance to, rather that it being politically motivated.

Alluding to The Jam's political songs, he said: "You'd have to be particularly stupid to believe someone like Paul Weller.

It’s not just old goths that do something to Weller, he isn’t fond of royalty either.

Weller, who turned down a CBE in 2006, told Record Collector magazine: “People have said they’ve seen people kissing [King] Charles’ hand and all that.

“What’s all that about? It’s 2022 and people are doing all that Cinderella b*****ks.”
