Piers Morgan teases hes replaced Daniel Craig as James Bond in breaking news
The race for the next James Bond has a new contender – one you probably weren't expecting to see vying for the role.
Controversial TV presenter Piers Morgan has hinted that he will willingly throw his hat in the ring now Daniel Craig has officially stepped down.
Piers, 56, made the most of a photo opportunity as he attended a screening event for the latest instalment of the hit movie franchise.
And he couldn't wait to share the image with his followers as he admitted his desire to step in to the coveted role.
Piers took to Twitter to joke with his fans that the latest bond had been revealed – pointing to the image of himself.
He wrote: "BREAKING: Daniel Craig’s replacement as 007 finally revealed…"
The former GMB host also posted the snap in question to Instagram, adapting one of the most iconic movie phrases of all time to caption the photo.
He said: "The name’s Morgan… Piers Morgan. #TimeToDie"
In the picture, Piers is seen dressed in a smart suit with a white shirt and pale blue tie as he poses outside London's Burlington Arcade.
A huge 007 sign adorns the wall behind him in the image, as he smirks looking at the camera.
Piers' followers clearly saw the funny side to his post as they commented with laughing face and clown emojis.
Others were quite smitten by the idea as they heaped praise on him for his trimmer look after losing weight while he was suffering from Covid-19.
One wrote: "You’re looking very trim there Piers."
Another added: "Looking dapper piers. You legend."
A third chipped in: "Think you would make a handsome Bond."
And a fourth continued: "Looking fabulous Mr M."
Some fans even went a step further and provided potential plotlines for his integration into the role.
One excited follower posted: "Bonds long lost uncle… who takes over the 007 role in the next film."
Another creative fan gave his scripting offering: "James Bond's swanky dad, comes to mix it up and steal his girl."
