Freddie Mercury and Elton John kept WHAT ‘under the bed’? Guests were shocked to find THIS

Music fans had a double treat with the releases of rock biopics Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocket Man. Both films confirmed what most people already knew. Both iconic stars had a love of excess which matched their inner struggles with their sexualities. Freddie always took great delight in dropping gossipy revelations into his interviews, including this outrageous one about Elton, which proved just how much they really weren’t like many other men – gay, straight or otherwise.

New book Freddie Mercury: A Life, In His Own Words gathers together a remarkable and comprehensive array of incredible quotes from the Queen legend. It’s almost like reading his autobiography.

His voice shines through in every passage, but fans are reminding how very different their own lives are in this extraordinary section talking about his house, One Garden Lodge, and what unsuspecting overnight guests might find lying around.

Freddie says: “I love those stories about Elton, where he had that problem where people were staying at his home at the weekends, in his spare rooms…

“They’d look under the bed and..”

What exactly would they find? It’s certainly outrageous, but perhaps not what you would expect…

Freddie added: “There would be Rembrandts and other such masters. It’s true. With me, it’s my Japanese prints that are just getting ridiculous.”

Having seen Elton’s 40th birthday and how he decorated the inside of the truck he travelled in, one can only imagine what his house looked like.

As for Freddie, the Queen star’s West London mansion was notoriously beautiful and stuffed with art but even he began to think he might have gone too far.

He said: “I’m trailing over my Lalique and Galle vases – I’m up to my ears now. I mean, a lot of people used to say my house was like a museum, but now I’m beginning t agree with them. It’s getting very silly.”

It’s actually impossible to think of anything more ‘Freddie’ than this.

Everything he did was with an awareness of the joy it could bring himself or others, as well as a firm grip on the ridiculousness of it all.

Freddie said; “All I wanted from life was to make lots of money and spend it….”

And he couldn’t resist one last outrageous comment in one interview: “I’m a rock star. I’m very rich. I can buy anything I like – including you!”

Breaking Bad movie El Camino: Jesse Pinkman plot EXPOSED in new trailer detail

Breaking Bad fans were devastated when the hugely-popular series came to an end on AMC with the cliff-hanger-filled finale Felina.

Many were thrilled by the return of some of the characters in the new Netflix film El Camino, set to be released next month.

But there are serious questions around Jesse’s (played by Aaron Paul) fate, as it was hinted in the Breaking Bad finale he was driving off into the sunset for a happy ever after, finally getting his escape from the toxicity of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).

Has the show brought Jesse back only to punish him some more, or will the new film give the character the true resolution he has been seeking?

The new clip shows Jesse listening to a radio news broadcast about the killings he escaped in the show’s series finale.

Eagle-eyed fans will know the character is still sitting in the same car he was last seen driving away from the scene of the crime in, and suddenly the broadcast warns the authorities are searching for a man who left it.

A troubled Jesse is parked up in the Albuquerque desert, but where will he head to next?

From this short scene, fans can already answer some questions about what the film’s plot is.

For one thing, Jesse appears to be in a situation very close to the one from the finale, suggesting the film picks back up on the former meth cook barely days, maybe even hours after the events of the finale.

What’s more, there are “nine male victims” referred to on the radio, prompting fans to speculate this is Uncle Jack’s gang and Walter.

We don’t slow down to explain things to a non-Breaking Bad audience

Vince Gilligan

The last trailer saw Skinny Pete being interrogated by the DEA, so director Vince Gilligan is clearly intent on building excitement for the new movie with only a few tidbits of information.

Fans had hoped Jesse had gotten his happy ending after the show’s finale, but unfortunately that wasn’t to be.

Chased by the law and desperate to find a different sense of purpose, Jesse’s journey continues when the film is released.

It’s likely the last time Paul plays his iconic character too, so fingers crossed the movie does his send-off justice.

For those new to the series however, writer-director Gilligan has admitted there will be no explanation and will jump straight back in to the story.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Vincent said: “We don’t slow down to explain things to a non-Breaking Bad audience.

“I thought early on in the writing of the script, ‘Maybe there’s a way to have my cake and eat it too.

“Maybe there’s a way to explain things to the audience.’

“If there was a way to do that, it eluded me,” the writer added.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad film will be available to stream on Netflix from 11 October.

Freddie Mercury heartbreaking revelations: He only did THIS at home where he felt safe

Freestone says: “The moments that always stood out for me were when he was at home laughing.

“I know this sounds quite ordinary, but whenever you see Freddie smiling or laughing during an interview, he always uses his top lip to cover his teeth, or else he brings up his hand to cover his mouth.

The reason for this was that he hated his teeth and always tried to cover them up.

“When he was at home he wasn’t self-conscious surrounded by friends, and he would just throw his head back and laugh out loud with his mouth wide open.

“Those were the times when the warm, funny and relaxed man was able to appear, without having to be wary of strangers seeing him without the Freddie Mercury – the Rock Star persona.”

Contrary to popular belief, Freddie’s home was never a major party palace. It really was simply his sanctuary.

Freestone says: “Freddie’s Garden Lodge generally had a quiet atmosphere. It was his home, so while he had quite a few wonderful parties for anything up to 200 people, it was a place he felt secure in and a place where he didn’t have to guard anything he said or did.

“He could get up in the morning and put on a mismatching tracksuit, he could be silent if he wanted to, or come downstairs from his bedroom, full of life.

“Freddie loved laughing, so was almost always with people who could make him laugh.”

Freestone, like all thos lucky enough to be in Freddie’s mansion, confirms just how beautiful the decorations and furnishings were.

“While Freddie was alive, it was the warmest, most welcoming home that I could wish for.

“It was decorated most beautifully, it was filled with great furniture and as Freddie said, it wasn’t a museum; it was a house to be lived in and enjoyed.”

Freddie left the house in his will to ex-girlfriend Mary Austin, the “love of my life”, who kept much of the interior exactly how Freddie had created it.

Deepika Padukone, Bollywood and now Hollywood superstar, is well known for films such as Padmaavat, Goliyon Ki Raas and Leela-Ram Leela, as well as the Vin Diesel-starring xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

The actress is also a dancer and can regularly be seen using her talents on her various films.

And now the actress’ teacher Dr Ashley William Joseph revealed that Deepika has a phenomenal voice and the youngster had been a part of the school choir, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine the star will one day return to her other love.

Dr Joseph then shared her hopes for the star to release an album, so will the actress take the step?

Deepika’s school teacher chose to remember one of her favourite students from her past.

“Deepika or Deepu, as I call here,” she began, “was my student for over seven years in Bangalore.

I do hope one day I would get to work on her voice again and she brings out her own album

Deepika Padukone’s former teacher

“For those who don’t know,” the teacher continued. “Deepu has a lovely elegant voice and I do wish to see her using that singing voice again.

“As for musical productions, the last one Deepu did with me with Directing was ‘Fiddler on the Roof’.

“One of the most famous Broadway productions that was a big hit in Bangalore.”

The educator later went on to comment further on the actress before she became famous, and insisted the xXx star had always been a pleasure to teach.

“Coming from a famous family, Deepika was humble and simple which was such a beautiful trait in her,” she added.

The educator went on and on about how as a student Deepika was extremely diligent and hardworking.

Deepika will also be seen in new movie Chhapaak, a film based on Laxmi Agarwal.

It is slated to release on January 10, 2020.

She is due to appear in Kabir Khan’s ’83 as the character Romi Dev after recently finishing filming in London.

Will Deepika end up turning to music instead of acting? Time will tell.

BBC News: Naga Munchetty forced to intervene as Blackford brands Boris Johnson a ‘mad man’

Today’s edition of BBC Breakfast saw presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt reporting from Westminster, London as Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decisions continue to cause divides in Parliament, and the host were keen to find out what’s next after the Houses of Parliament’s proroguing.

During one interview, broadcast journalist Naga Munchetty spoke to SNP’s Ian Blackford, who sits for the party in the House of Commons.

Blackford became increasingly irate, and after accidentally talking over the MP, Munchetty klistened as Blackford went on to criticise Johnson and call him a “mad man” for wanting to take the UK out of the European Union with a No Deal Brexit.

The presenter was then forced to intervene and noted the Prime Minister wasn’t there to defend himself, so she would have to put Blackford’s comments to one side.

More to follow…

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays at 6am on BBC One.

Emmerdale spoilers: Aaron Dingle star speaks out on Robert Sugden exit ‘I was livid’

Fans were utterly heartbroken when they learnt the news Robert Sugden star Ryan Hawley had chosen to leave Emmerdale.

It was only last year that the couple finally reunited after months of back and forth, and in emotional Valentine’s Day episodes, the Robert and Aaron decided to build a future together for good.

The couple then remarried on the ITV soap, and for a while, it seemed like they would be happy forever as they decided to pursue surrogacy and have another baby.

But all that changed with Ryan’s announcement, and now Danny has finally weighed in on his co-star’s decision.

Speaking at a recent press event about Ryan’s departure, Danny joked to Digital Spy and other media: “I was livid. My episode count’s going down, isn’t it?

“No, you know, I’ve been there,” the actor clarified. “I’ve left and had a go at seeing what’s out there – auditioning and being a jobbing actor. I always had a feeling that Ryan would want to do that at some point.

“Without blowing smoke, he’s a great actor and great to work with. So it was always inevitable he was going to do this. It was just a case of when – and yes, I fully support him. He should get out there. I was gutted for me to lose a friend on set and around the building as well.”

He laughed: “I must be saying some things – I’ve lost Kelvin Fletcher, Adam Thomas and now Ryan. I’m going to be the only one in that group message who’s still working!

“It’s gutting for me, Aaron and the show. But I wish him all the best. He should just go for it and see what auditions he gets.”

The star added he hopes that if Robert does go to prison for GBH with intent, Aaron will still stick by his husband.

It’s gutting for me, Aaron and the show

Danny Miller

“I think he’s become that guy who wants to stand by his family. And being married, that’s what they are,” Danny considered. “I’d like to think the writers would always support that. But I don’t know.

“It’s been a while since he’s had heartbreak. Robert is the love of his life and he’s been there, done so much for him and been through so much with him.

“When you rip that out of someone’s life, regardless of whether they’re a partner or a family member, it’s naturally going to be devastating for them,” the actor added.

Elsewhere in the Yorkshire Dales, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) could be set to rekindle their romance.

Cain is currently in the dark as to what his wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) is doing with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), but when he discovers their sordid activities, the mechanic may turn to his past girlfriend Harriet.

Harriet came to Cain for advice during tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, begging him to let Will have his job back at the garage.

Cain stuck to his guns at first, but the end of the double bill, he’d relented and agreed to give Will another chance working for him.

Grateful to Cain for softening on the issue, Harriet and the resident hard man shared a poignant moment in the middle of the village.

Harriet and Will ended up kissing by the end of the episode, and Cain and Moira ended up going to bed together as a result of the farmer’s misguided passion over Nate.

But will both Cain and Harriet find a reason to return to each other when their other halves inevitably disappoint them?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.

Outlander season 5 spoilers: Jamie Fraser plot hole uncovered in major twist?

When Claire Randall Fraser (played by Caitriona Bale) first travelled through the Standing Stones, she was plunged into the middle of the MacKenzie Clan’s secret Jacobean activities on Outlander.

Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish) was using his nephew Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) as a means to incite fellow Scottish Highlanders to join the cause of the Jacobites on a regular trip to collect the taxes from the Clan’s residents.

Dougal’s brother Collum McKenzie (Gary Lewis) had no idea of his true agenda, but Claire found out the hard way what was really going on.

But while the action hurtled on and Jamie and Claire’s connection continued to build, there may have been a puzzling blunder in a detail about payment.

Reddit fan HypocriticalCritic pointed out the flaws in the proposed value of the tax payments.

“In Outlander, I recall that Jamie gets about 20 pounds from the taxes that the Dougal squad collects, prompting the ‘Is that it?’ from Claire,” the user posted.

“I know that Claire might not have the best grasp at the interest rate of the pound in the 18th century, but that money is spent to only buy the wedding ring, which isn’t even made out of a pricy substance, like silver etc.

“But in the show (season three), when Laoghaire [Nell Hudson] discovers about Claire’s return and Ned Gowan presents the alimony for the divorce of Jamie and Laoghaire’s arrangement, it’s said to be 20 pounds.

“And they all gasp at it. Two years wages or something like that. What’s up with that?” the fan continued, eager to get to the bottom of the apparent plot hole.

“Did the interest rate of the pound drop a massive amount in twenty years?”

I recall that Jamie gets about 20 pounds from the taxes that the Dougal squad collects

Reddit fan

Puffinchuk first pointed out that “Jamie was paid by Dougal in Scottish pounds, not Sterling”, with fellow fan LadyOfAvalon83 later saying “in the book the alimony was something like £300 but they changed it for the show”.

But without any explanation for the show’s change, £20 seems a disproportionately low amount. Was it intentional?

Ameireaganach considered: “That would make sense. Is there evidence of Highlanders still dealing in Pounds Scots after Scotland officially adopted Pounds Sterling?”

“I think their wealth would have changed dramatically after the rebellion,” tanya-jo guessed finally. “They also had years of poor crops (the potatoes). Maybe higher taxes?”

Despite the confusing taxes, Jamie didn’t really need the extra money, and his work with various business paths ensured the character could live comfortably for the foreseeable future.

The father-of-two turns more frugal in season four of the hit series, building his own home in the woods with his wife Claire.

Will the duo upgrade with the arrival of Brianna Randall Fraser (Sophie Skelton), husband Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) and their baby Jemmy as Frasers’ Ridge continues to grow?

For fans who miss the presence of the dominating Dougal, actor Graham has teased there could be a huge twist and he could be returning to the series in season five or beyond.

In a new interview with, the star spoke about his current role on historical drama Preacher when he was suddenly prompted on Outlander.

The publication asked: “While your character is essentially dead in Outlander; in later books his son with Geilis does make an appearance.

“Is there a flashback opportunity? And what was it like filming something that highlighted the history of your culture?”

Keeping his answer short but pivotal, Graham shared: “The beauty of a show that allows time travel is that anything can happen. We shall see…”

Another story point recently discuss was that of Frank Randall’s (Tobias Menzies) betrayal, which is very different in the show to Diana Gabaldon’s original novels.

Outlander season five returns to STARZ and Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

Deepika Padukone: xXx star spotted in LONDON working on exciting new film

The Bollywood beauty happily stopped for pictures with fans in the British capital this week. Padukone jetted into London to film new sporting drama ’83. She is accompanied by her husband, Ranveer Singh, who will play the lead role in the true tale of one of the greatest moments in Indian sporting history. The Padmaavat actress posed with a small boy and another fan during her walkabout.

Deepika flew out of Mumbai in a radiant all-white outfit but threw on a beige overcoat to battle the rather unpredictable British weather over the last few weeks.

Later she was pictured in a denim top. According to reports, when she stopped for a picture the fan called Deepika “the most humble star”. Singh also happily posed, too.

The married Bollywood superstars will star together on screen for the fourth time in their new project. This time they are playing married couple, Kapil and Romi Dev.

Kapil is the legendary cricketer who helped India to their first World Cup win at Lords in London in 1983. The movie ’83 follows the drama surrounding the momentous defeat of the West Indies in the final.

Deepika has spoken of her admiration for Romi Dev.

She said: “I feel so inspired every time I meet her. She has an extremely refreshing energy, is intelligent, knowledgable and funny. Romi ji is someone who is extremely honest and when she needs to express herself, she does it with a lot of dignity. I like the way she conducts herself with so much grace.”

The role follows hard on the heels of an even more inspiring subject.

Padukone has just finished principal photography on the hard-hitting movie Chhapaak.

It is based on the true-life tale of an acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, who was disfigured when she was 15 after resisting the advances of an older man.
