'90 Day Fiancé': Colt Johnson’s Mother Debbie Spills on Being Catfished By a 29-Year-Old

Debbie Johnson, the mother of Colt Johnson from 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs, has become a household name right along with her son. Colt first appeared in season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé when he brought Larissa Dos Santos Lima over to Las Vegas, Nevada on the K-1 visa from Brazil. After that relationship fizzled out, we saw him date another woman named Jess Caroline, who is also from Brazil. But neither famous relationship worked out. Debbie and her son live together, so she was center stage for all of it.

Colt was married to Larissa in season 6 of the original series, but there were problems from the start between them. Larissa also didn’t get along with Debbie, who is a huge part of her son’s life. Eventually, the couple divorced after Larissa was arrested three times for domestic abuse.

Next came Jess, someone Debbie didn’t get along with either. The mother and son duo even went to Brazil to meet Jess’ family, and there were problems when Debbie revealed a woman Jess didn’t even want Colt talking to, Vanessa Guerra, was watching their cats. Jess broke up with Colt when she learned that Vanessa was living with him and the fact that he sent out images of his private areas to other women.

In episode 7 of 90 Day: Bares All, Colt and Debbie join the host, Shaun Robinson, via video, and Debbie reveals some surprising details about getting back in the dating scene on a dating app.

“I heard that you were catfished,” Shaun says to Debbie, who reveals that’s the case. She goes on to spill the details about the unfortunate situation.

“Well, I met this person online,” Debbie says. “And I really really liked him. He was really an amazing person. We had a lot in common. We talked constantly. He told me he was from England, and he had a 12-year-old daughter.”

Debbie admits they talked for about more than a month and relayed that he said his name was Fred. When asked if she saw a picture of the man she spoke to, Debbie admits she did see a picture. However, it turns out it wasn’t really what he looked like.

“And, all of a sudden, after about a month, I started getting some red flags,” Debbie admits. When Shaun asks about the first “red flag,” Debbie says, “He tried to befriend one of my friends on one of the social medias. And she sent me a picture of him.”

Debbie said it was “a real picture of him,” so she said to Fred, “Send me a picture of you right now, you have three minutes, with your fingers on your face.” She continues, adding, “First he said, ‘Oh give me some time. I need to freshen up.’ And I said, ‘No, countdown started.’”

When Debbie informed him that the time was up, the man admitted his name was Vince, and he’s from Nigeria. “He said he was 29 years old I think. And I said, ‘No, no, no, no, no.”

It was a hard situation for her to go through. “It broke my heart, it really did, ‘cause I was really crazy about this person,” Debbie reveals.

To prevent the situation from occurring again, she says, “First off, you just tell somebody, ‘Send me a selfie’ right off the bat doing something. Three fingers, six fingers, whatever. Something off the cuff that they wouldn’t be expecting. And send it to you ASAP.”
