Adam Thomas shares sneak-peek at Waterloo Road as son and niece make debut

Adam Thomas sent fans wild after sharing a first look at the Waterloo Road reboot.

Before the 34-year-old made a name for himself as Adam Barton on Emmerdale, he starred as student Donte Charles in the BBC series from 2006 to 2009.

In the snap posted on his Instagram, the I'm A Celebrity star posed alongside his on-screen family which includes real-life son Teddy and niece Scarlett, who is the daughter of his brother Ryan Thomas – both whom will be playing his children.

Also in the shot was Katie Griffiths who is returning to the role of Chlo Grainger – Donte's childhood sweetheart and now wife.

In the original series, Donte and Chlo married very young and famously became one of the most loved couples on the show – and now fans will finally get to see them back on screen once again.

Alongside the sweet promo shot, Adam penned: "The news is finally out … Meet the Charles family."

He teased: "Waterloo road is back bigger and better than ever … and I get to take these two along for the ride x."

The actor sparked fan frenzy with the snap as one user commented: "STOP IT!!! Ted is in it too!?!?"

Ex- TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, who is engaged to Corrie's Ryan, gushed: "Aww this is amazing! Can't wait to watch."

Emmerdale's Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy Metcalfe, added: "Ridiculously talented family," as another echoed: "Major Congratulations! What a squad."

Speaking about his return, Adam said: "I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to get back to acting and doing what I love! I can't wait to see some old faces and some new. I know this series is going to be the best one yet."

Katie added: "Chlo was my first professional acting role, and I feel so lucky to be part of the show again. I can't wait to see what stories unfold!"

It was confirmed earlier this year that the show would be returning following its axe in 2015, with several other familiar faces joining the cast.

Angela Griffin, who played Kim Campbell, will return as the school's new headteacher while Strictly Come Dancing's Kym Marsh is joining the cast as Nicky Walters.
